Sioux Empire Fair
FairHeld at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls, the Sioux Empire Fair is the largest fair in South Dakota. An annual summer event, the fair includes carnival rides, fair food, livestock shows, horse shows, and art competitions daily, plus pro rodeo and national headline concerts. Running since 1936 (except during WWII and 2020), the 87th annual fair runs late July through early August. Food vendors can operate in the Grandstand or independent food area; commercial exhibitors book space in the air-conditioned Expo Center or outside.
